Meet Aashna Kunkolienker, a GenAI engineer who started her career building AI products for real-world workflows and never looked back. She's now on the Q-Chat team at QuadSci. Here's what brought her here and what she's been working on.

## Why QuadSci?

What made QuadSci an easy "yes" wasn't just the technology, it was the people. From my very first conversations during interviews, the company felt collaborative rather than hierarchical. Every person is approachable, ideas are welcomed regardless of title, and there's a genuine respect for employees that makes it feel like you're building alongside your teammates rather than simply working for a company. That warmth and openness, combined with the opportunity to build AI products like Growth AI and Cohorts AI which are so powerful, made QuadSci feel like the right place for me!

## What's your background?

I started my career last year in AI engineering at a services consulting company, where I had the opportunity to work with different customers across industries. That experience gave me an early perspective on how organizations are adopting AI, the challenges they face, and what they actually expect from AI products beyond the hype.

My work has primarily been on the backend, building agents and integrating LLMs into real-world workflows. As I continue to grow, I'm especially interested in the AI infra and systems architecture side. I believe the future of engineering will be increasingly shaped by designing scalable systems and making thoughtful architectural trade-offs, with less emphasis on simply writing code.

## What are you building right now?

I'm part of the GenAI team, where we're building Q-Chat, Quadsci's AI assistant that helps Customer Success teams interact with complex customer data through natural language. Instead of navigating dashboards and piecing together dozens of signals, users can simply ask questions and receive grounded answers, predictive insights, and actionable recommendations.

One of the most challenging (and rewarding) parts of working on Q-Chat is that every customer is unique. Each deployment has different data, requirements, and business logic, so we're continuously adapting the product and solving new engineering problems.

## What makes a great AI product?

For me, a great AI product isn't one that simply produces impressive responses but it's one that helps people make better decisions. LLMs today can sound very convincing, so building AI that users can trust is what really matters.

The best AI simplifies unnecessary complexity, stays grounded in reliable data, and helps create real business impact, not just make work feel "easier".

## One thing people should know about me

Whether it's tackling an engineering problem at work or spending a weekend at a hackathon, I love the process of taking an idea from scratch to something that works. AI coding assistants have become great teammates along the way, letting me spend more time thinking through solutions and less time on repetitive tasks.

I also enjoy attending hackathons and tech events. They help me exchange ideas, see what others are creating, and learn about new technologies and products. I love understanding how things work, why they're built the way they are, and, even better, finding ways to contribute to something meaningful.
